Sydney Universityโ€™s MySydney and E12 students turned the Great Hall into a buzzing hub of campus spirit for a special Halloween edition of Quizanity Trivia. Hosted by MC Nathan Cassar, the night centred on connection and a friendly dose of competition, with students filling the historic hall in Sydney to cap off a big season of study with something playful and high energy.

I leaned into the brief as Captain Longsword and steered the room through my Quizanity format, where everyone plays on their phones and every second counts. The live scoreboard kept the pace sharp and the laughter rolling as teams chased points and bragging rights. We added a Scissors Paper Rock-Off to break a hotly contested tie, which had the whole hall backing their favourites, and then shifted gears for a quick Best Dressed spotlight so our Halloween heroes could strut their looks.

What stood out was the way the MySydney and E12 cohorts rallied around one another. Between rounds, students mixed, new friendships formed, and the hall felt less like a competition and more like a celebration of the community these programs foster. The University of Sydneyโ€™s Great Hall offered a striking backdrop that made the whole experience feel special without taking the focus off the students themselves.

Thank you to the University of Sydney and the MySydney and E12 students for having me. It was a joy to bring Quizanity to campus and see how quickly the room leaned into the fun. Iโ€™m looking forward to the next chance to return with more fast-paced trivia, more good-natured rivalry, and another night that champions student life in Sydney.
